I found Allison’s Postpartum Doula Certification program to be wonderfully comprehensive, detailed, and packed with tangible tips, ideas and advice. Allison offers her extensive experience, combined with the experience of others making sure you are fully prepared for your work as a postpartum doula. As someone with several years of childcare experience, and newborn experience, I was worried the training would be repetitive, but I was delighted to find it to be educational and interesting at every turn. After attending several other postpartum doula training programs, I am convinced this is one of the most thorough Postpartum Doula Trainings I have attended! The modules were well done and very informative. I especially appreciate the modules on Cultural Diversity and Grief and Loss. These are areas we don’t always have a great deal of experience in. They were very informative and added to the depth and breadth of this fantastic training program! I will be sending all aspiring women wanting to become postpartum doulas to this program!

Allison is one of the best teachers I have ever experienced! I did my first doula training over 30 years ago and have taken many continuing education courses through the years. I decided to take her doula training as a refresher and it did not disappoint. She is engaging in the classroom portions and the course is through and well rounded. I learned so much! Additionally, Allison is very accessible and always willing to help. Her private online group for people who have gone through the program is an invaluable resource.

This was a very organized and thorough training program. I loved how you could check off each module as you went along and keep track of your progress. The resources, suggested book list, plan for ongoing support, and inclusivity of this training set it apart from the rest. I am glad I chose this program for my ongoing education in my career of supporting families and babies.

I took Alison's Breastfeeding Basics class to fill my requirement for doula certification and loved it! The class provided tried and true breastfeeding advice alongside information and tips I had not heard before (and I nursed for over 6 years!). I loved how she walks families through the first feeding in the hospital, including practices to support breastfeeding like delaying the first bath. The class continues to go over engorgement once home, how to find a good lactation consultant, common breastfeeding problems (and how to handle them), and a list of must-have products. She gave practical advice for dealing with hurdles like jaundice and how to get that Golden Hour in the hospital. I feel much better prepared to support my clients with evidence-based information about breastfeeding, as well as detailed advice for dealing with any issues. Also, I loved how she used inclusive language accessible to all families.

Allison is a one of a kind doula mentor that is truly the whole package. She offers valuable reading materials that offer fully comprehensive education needed in making sure that her doulas are equipped with the knowledge to work with any and all postpartum families. She also provides hands on training through her classes, where you learn in a face to face teaching environment where you both learn and meet expecting parents. Her training is flexible, which is valuable to those who need the time to finish and complete all of the training and reading materials. Through this flexibility I am provided with work/life balance and am able to continue that on into my professional work. Finally, her availability to the doulas that she trains is outstanding - no question is too big or too small and she makes herself available. Her 20 years of experience as a postpartum doula shines through in her training and you won't be sorry you chose Allison's training and mentorship.
