The RBLP course and certification process had me dig deep into leadership experiences I had buried. It all counts but I often focused on the present versus remembering all of the past experiences that brought me to where I am today. The sessions and the article were both validating and also gave me new insights. The Resilience Building Leadership Program gave concepts that I didn’t learn in college.

My facilitator, Dr. Sherry Latten is an amazing professional, coach and leadership professional who inspired me and had every confidence in me that I would pass the facilitator certification. I was nervous about the exam, but Dr. Tony Cevoli assured me of his support and that this would be conversational. He was very validating as I shared my experiences with him. By the time we got to the third question, I felt myself begin to relax and settle into the experience.

This is much different than sitting at a computer taking a certification exam – you get to share what you know in real-time. During the workshops, we talk about real life leadership experiences and learn from each other. RBLP is applicable to all levels of leadership – even if you don’t lead a team in the work setting, this is applicable to your personal life experiences - you may lead projects and very importantly, you lead yourself.

I had an amazing cohort who I bonded with and am confident that we will continue this journey together.

The Resilience- Building Leadership Program (RBLP) was the program I was looking for to further my education in resilience building. Upon taking the program I was welcomed by staff who were there to guide me on my new journey. My teacher, Mr. Jim Green, was very kind, knowledgeable, and showed a general interest in wanting me to succeed. Through his guidance and my passion for learning, I was then faced with taking the RBLP exam. I was hesitant in that there was so much information and I was uncertain on how i would do on the exam. My exam instructor, Dr. Laura McIntyre, was pretty funny and relatable, so her kindness helped me focus on answering her questions, and i felt good about it. I then was notified that I passed and I was very excited. If any leader is looking to get certified for Resilience-Building this is the program. Great resources given, great study materials, and great meeting new instructors. I can now take what i have learned and apply it to my workplace!
